This coming Sunday Elliott will be leading a discussion on 'how we contact the sublime through art'. The talk will explore how humans have used art across history to trigger awe by making us feel both insignificant and greater, and more permeable and defined all at once.

From pyramids, cathedrals, and stained glass to Romantic landscape and modern installations, the through-line is not just beauty but encounter: art overwhelms through vastness and power. We will walk through art not as spectacle for its own sake, but as an experience that presses the human mind against something larger than it can fully contain.
