Gary Stevenson is a multimillionaire ‘inequality economist’ who campaigns for higher wealth taxation. In his YouTube video-“What does Elon Musk want?” he explains that the reason we are getting poorer is because inequality is rapidly increasing.
We'll be using this (20 min) video as a basis for our discussion:
Gary is a former financial trader, alumni of the London School of Economics and a member of Patriotic Millionaires and Millionaires for Humanity. On his YouTube channel, he explains why economic inequality is a problem that affects us all, and how immigration has been framed as a major problem in our society to distract us from what's really going on. He argues that the only way to protect ourselves, is for the “not super rich people” to work together, which means we cannot afford to be hating one another.
